MY PHILOSOPHY
I have always been fascinated by the critical role that nutrition can play in preventing and regulating chronic disease. I became even more interested in the healing power of food, when my oldest son was first diagnosed with food allergies and when I experienced my own health struggles postpartum. Over the years, I have become increasingly conscious of the relationship between our current food and agricultural systems and the health of our nation and our planet. We may not be able to escape the current model, but I love helping others learn how to navigate it more successfully.
I approach nutrition from an integrative and functional lens, taking a deep dive into not only what you are eating, but also your overall health, lifestyle and environment. Yes, sleep patterns, exercise, relaxation practices and any adverse symptoms you may be experiencing are all relevant! I promote intuitive, mindful eating techniques and strategies that are sustainable, helping to eliminate the ideas of restriction, deprivation and guilt. Taste should never be compromised and that’s why I highlight flavorful, fresh, whole-foods and ingredients.
Our diet-centric culture and the media can make knowing what to eat confusing and stressful, but it doesn't have to be. There's no one size fits all approach here. I can give you the tools and the knowledge you need so that you can tune in more closely and distinguish what works best for you. No, it's not normal to feel exhausted, bloated, anxious, or be plagued with migraines and heartburn. A Chinese proverb reads "When sleeping women wake, mountains move." Through the power of food, let me help you feel your very best and show up for yourself and your family the way you deserve to.
